Bogotá, September 30, 2025. The airport, with the support of Avianca, presents the exhibition “Colombia Dorada: A Visual Journey Through the Colombia You Haven’t Seen Yet,” as a tribute to the country’s richness. Inspired by the legend of El Dorado, this gallery will showcase 60 immersive photographs that portray Colombia’s biodiversity and landscapes as an unparalleled treasure. The cultural space is suspended, allowing passersby in Terminal 1—across from the information point between doors 5 and 6 on levels 1 and 2—to be inspired and capture a memorable moment.

The photographs by artist Roberto Lombana measure 145 cm in diameter and are printed using augmented reality on gold-colored MDF with resin, representing pure gold. The exhibition will also include detailed descriptions of each piece and QR codes for visitors to explore the story behind every image, connecting with each destination on a deeper, more emotional level.

For OPAIN, this is a tribute to Colombia and the richness of its territory. At El Dorado, we are committed to bringing art and culture closer to the more than 46 million travelers who move through our terminal every year, offering diverse experiences that connect with the soul of the country. We want both locals and visitors to discover the authentic Colombia that fills us with pride, and to take a piece of it with them in their hearts.

For artist Roberto Lombana, each of the images on display is a visual poem that invites viewers to rediscover Colombia. With perspectives from and toward the sky, viewpoints that transport the observer, and details ranging from the páramos and jungles to the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, this body of work also highlights the biodiversity and natural beauty that define our country.

Meanwhile, María Carolina Cortés, Vice President of Corporate Communications and Reputation at Avianca, stated:
“Every Colombian surely has a story connected to the world’s second-oldest airline. Avianca was born in this country 105 years ago, and since then, all of us who are part of it have remained steadfast in our mission to create access, connecting stories and reaching places no one else reaches. We believe in the country, and that’s why we connect the four cardinal points of Colombia, helping regions and their people grow. We are proud to be part of this initiative that showcases, at the heart of our operation, the richness of our territories. At El Dorado, we connect the world with more than 240 flights, and we will continue working to promote the unexplored beauty this country still has to offer.”

“Colombia Dorada: A Visual Journey Through the Colombia You Haven’t Seen Yet” will transport visitors to destinations such as:
– The Guatavita Lagoon (Cundinamarca)
– The Rock Formations of the Orinoco River (Vichada)
– The Mavecure Hills overlooking the Inírida River (Guainía)
– The Tatacoa Desert (Huila)
– Mangrove reflections in Utría (Chocó)
– The Paradise Flower in Barichara (Santander)
– The Andean cock-of-the-rock in Jardín (Antioquia), among others.

About the artist Roberto Lombana Sanclemente:
An artist who uses photography as the starting point for his creations. His passion is traveling the world and capturing it, seeking magical and beautiful images in real places—revealing the beauty that often goes unnoticed.

His photographic work is created using a fisheye wide-angle lens, a technique he has specialized in for the past 16 years across various locations around the world (Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Panama, Mexico, the United States, Canada, Spain, France, Portugal, Italy, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Russia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Japan, China, and Lebanon, among others). Lombana elevates photography to a perceptual and immersive scale.

In post-production, he recreates imaginary places based on the symmetrical precision of sacred geometry, printing his photographs on various materials—primarily canvas, but also paper, skateboard decks, recycled car parts, mirrors, and most recently, handcrafted gold- and silver-leafed panels.

Lombana has participated in multiple group and solo exhibitions in museums, galleries, and art fairs, with works held in private collections across Colombia, Venezuela, Panama, Peru, Ecuador, Argentina, the United States, England, Italy, Spain, France, Iceland, Brazil, and Japan.

Since 2021, he has collaborated with the Saving The Amazon Foundation, donating a portion of each artwork sale to plant a tree in the Amazon in the buyer’s name.
